We respond to all privacy enquiries submitted through the contact form and will coordinate follow-up by email once a request is received.

3. Personal data we collect

• Account information: name, email address, authentication data (login codes), and billing identifiers supplied by you or Paddle when you subscribe.
• Prompt content: text you create, upload, or save while using AskSmarter.ai. You are in control of what is stored. Draft prompts you do not save are discarded after your session.
• Usage and device data: IP address, browser and device metadata, access timestamps, and feature interactions captured via Vercel, Upstash, and analytics tools. Aggregated metrics are used to secure and improve the service.
• Support and communications: messages sent to our support channels and any attachments you provide when requesting help.

4. How we use your data

• To provide the AskSmarter.ai application and personalize your workspace.
• To deliver subscription billing, invoices, and payment notifications via Paddle.
• To respond to support requests, troubleshoot issues, and enhance product reliability.
• To monitor usage patterns, detect abuse, and improve the performance of our AI models.

5. Legal bases for processing

We process personal data on the following legal grounds under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): (a) your consent when you create an account or opt into marketing updates, (b) performance of our contract with you, (c) compliance with legal obligations, and (d) our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving a secure, reliable product.

6. Data retention

We retain account information for as long as you maintain an active subscription. Saved prompts remain available until you delete them or request removal. Support tickets are retained for up to 24 months for audit and training purposes. We anonymize or delete analytics data within 18 months unless a longer period is required by law.

7. Sharing with third parties

We do not sell personal data. We share limited information with trusted processors necessary to operate the service:

• Vercel for hosting the AskSmarter.ai web application.
• MongoDB Atlas for managed database services within the EU.
• Paddle for payment processing and subscription management.
• OpenAI and related AI infrastructure providers for generating responses to your prompts.

Each processor is bound by a data processing agreement and only accesses data necessary to deliver their service.

8. International data transfers

Some processors may store or access data outside of the European Economic Area (EEA). When transfers occur, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions to ensure your information receives equivalent protection.
